About Brown Town

The Brown Town neighborhood got its name because it was developed by the Brown Corporation in the 1950’s and has a large concentration of ranch homes.  It is located with North Elm to the east and Cone Boulevard to the north and sandwiched in between Kirkwood, Old Irving Park and New Irving Park.  This is a small and tight knit neighborhood that is made up of approximately 300 homes over 0.2 square miles and are known to have a coordinated annual October block party each year.  Residents can walk to St Pius X Catholic School, Sherwood Swim and Raquet, Brown Gardener (old fashioned pharmacy and soda fountain) and many more shops and restaurants on State Street.
